Dosimeter users may have problems with deciding between a lab calibration and an in-situ calibration for creating their dosimeters curve.

This abstract will explain the difference between the two method of calibration and highlight the benefits and concerns of each method.

It will look at why each method can be selected and the rational to justify that decision.

It will look at the different influence quantities that are taken into consideration during each calibration. It will also suggest ways to account for influence quantities that aren’t taken into considerations when perform each calibration method.

It will use real calibrations as examples and show issues and concerns that occurred with each type of calibration and how any problems were overcome and managed.

Aim: Show the differences between the two calibration methods and demonstrate when they are suitable and give real examples of how issues were managed.
