Security of sealed sources used in gamma processing has been a growing concern.  Source security along with radiation safety requirements must be met to ensure effective management and operation of gamma irradiation facilities.  GIPA, the Gamma Industry Processing Alliance, is an industry association of like-minded gamma processing industry leaders.  GIPA companies are focused on safe and secure use of sealed sources in gamma processing.  Security features are built into facility and transport package design as well as administrative and operational programs.  Security controls are in place throughout the sealed source lifecycle; from the time of source manufacture, through transport, to use for gamma processing and with respect to source returns to manufacturers.   This presentation will highlight the many ways that security concerns are addressed across GIPA member companies.
